Latest word is that the Diocese of Los Angeles will regain the property St. Luke's Anglican Church in La Crescenta held by a break-away group since 2006. According to the Los Angeles Times, the property is to be returned to the Diocese of Los Angeles by October 12th. At the same time, they report that members of the break-away group are waiting to see what the US Supreme Court will do in another case involving a church in Newport Beach and the Diocese. If they decide to hear the case then there will be a request to hold on the order to turn the buildings over to the Diocese. The Supreme Court will begin its session on Monday, October 5th and will publish the list of those cases it is taking on.
It goes on.
Assuming closure is happening, the Diocese expects to be able to take possession on the 12th. There will be a service of reconciliation and renewal the following Sunday.
