Doesn't this prove that their rhetoric about working within the Church was a lie?"

Answer: Yep! But not in a very clear way. If you take the premise that these folk had to leave and take protection elsewhere, they are really HERE not THERE, only they are irregularly part of the Episcopal Church under ecclesastical authority of other bishops until such time as a legit form of the church here can take them on - or something like that.Mark Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06871096746243771489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10326675.post-1140549224662295802006-02-21T14:13:00.000-05:002006-02-21T14:13:00.000-05:00The Reformation was once a minority movement too. ...The Reformation was once a minority movement too. Thank you. It is refreshing to read your essay written with clarity of style and keen perception. The noise of some African canons and a few so-called US orthodox Anglicans must not deter justice and respect for the dignity of every human being. I am aware of two churches in Rhode Island that are in the process of leaving the Episcopal Church.

I yearn for the Anglican Communion and the Church in Canada and the US to attend to more urgent matters, including compassion for all who are outcast and oppressed in any way. Maybe a little cleansing will lead to constructive transformation.

DavidAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10326675.post-1140482080209094642006-02-20T19:34:00.000-05:002006-02-20T19:34:00.000-05:00Even better than your usual entry, Mark: I feel in...Even better than your usual entry, Mark: I feel informed, enlightened, and inspired.

[Um, the latter two having nuthin' to do w/ the---as you correctly put it---rantings of +PJA!]

In two short paragraphs the authors of the Communiqué push at (or perhaps attack) . . . the agenda of the next Lambeth Conference

Or just the (too-inclusive) guest-list? ;-/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
