I don't think this is about those who we are missioners to - it is about us as believers."

That verse sounds awfully like "whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16b). The flip side of that statement of course is that those who reject the Son and do not believe in him will perish, or as Mark puts it, be condemned. That is the good news of the gospel surely, that God in his grace has freely provided for us one and only one perfect escape from his condemnation in and through the death and resurrection of the Son of God. Now that is not to say that we as missioners need to get into the business of condemning anyone, and indeed you are right in saying that it is futile for us to engage in mission if we ourselves do not believe in Jesus Christ and respond in faith and repentance, but surely it adds urgency to our mission to know that we are preaching this good news of salvation to those who are perishing and under God's condemnation.Brian Fhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06938619697698149146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10326675.post-9905533497749409422009-05-27T11:41:47.222-04:002009-05-27T11:41:47.222-04:00Amen.Amen.textjunkienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10326675.post-56944769000952809902009-05-25T22:18:00.465-04:002009-05-25T22:18:00.465-04:00May God bless the missionaries in their labors to ...May God bless the missionaries in their labors to spread the Good News of God's love in Jesus Christ.June Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01723016934182800437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10326675.post-79074283143222124312009-05-25T19:40:13.087-04:002009-05-25T19:40:13.087-04:00And AMEN!And AMEN!Lisa Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00881671380217888810noreply@blogger.com
