A Way, A Weight: The Juggler Chris Bliss

It's Friday afternoon: Wandering around on the internet, finding ways to avoid finishing the sermon for Sunday, I came across this Video:

(If you have hi speed internet access, click on the title and watch. If not, it may take forever to download. )

What a gift. If I was ever concerned if all the stuff that makes up the complexities of the Anglican Communion and the Episcopal Church could be pulled together into a dance of life and love, this effort of Chris Bliss (what a name!) settles it. As a good friend once said about the movie Time Bandits, I don't know if it is Christian, but it is certainly Anglican.

The fact that Chris' juggling is set to the Beetles "Once there was a way / Carry that weight" makes it all the more appropriate for us Episcopalians / Anglicans.

"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

This Video is Amazing. Enjoy.

  1. He must be an Episcopalian -- at least he would be at home juggling prayer book, bulletin, inserts, hymnal, LEVAS, etc.

Wow - thanks for the break, Mark. I tried to teach myself juggling, using the Klutz series booklet and bean squares. I just never got the hang of it, no matter how much I practiced. But those bean squares sit on my desk in my office at the church I serve. Every once in awhile I give it a try again. Never quit.

  6. Don't give up, Lois. It just takes time. I taught myself to juggle while in grad school, and it came in handy entertaining the kids when they were young. This guy, on the other hand, is amazing! Thanks for passing it along, Mark.

My life partner tried for hours on Saturday last to make it possible to project this onto a screen for the sermon this past Sunday, the 21st. Alas, it pixelated way too much and so, he had to give it up. But wouldn't it have been cool?!

And Paul M., thanks. I won't give up trying to juggle every so often. It's actually excellent exercise, but more important, the one and only time I was able to do a single pass with three balls was as the finale to a sermon in Milford Delaware on the Trinity! To do that again, alone, makes it all worth it.
