So, tell me again about Archbishop Akinola’s take on the Anti-Gay legislation?

The BBC reports Nigeria moves to tighten gay laws. The article includes this remark: "The Christian Association of Nigeria (Can), the umbrella body for Nigerian Christians, called for speedy passage of the law, describing same sex unions as 'barbaric and shameful'."

Well, that about does it. Archbishop Akinola is the President of CAN. This remark is entirely in line with other statements the Archbishop has made.

The BBC article goes on to say, "Parliamentary insiders say the bill is likely to be passed by both chambers of the Nigerian National Assembly by the end of March."

And there is not a word from the Archbishop or his staff against the bill.

  3. Hmmm,,,

Actually there were words, supportive words, until Bp Minns and his Virginia followers appeared. Then we got the letters about loving the person while objecting to sin. Far be it from me to suggest the foothold in Virginia is worth some dessembling......
