OK...I've saved this until Easter actually got here. A bit of delightful silliness to close out the day.
Here at St. Peter's we've had the whole round and then some. The Rector of all Lewes invited the whole world in and from the crowds today it appears they all came. Today at the two services the recessional was the Hallelujah Chorus sung by everybody. Great stuff!
Still, it would be fun to have the two hundred fifty voice Turtle Creek Chorale come and do their rendition, complete with nuns and placards. Next year, perhaps. Then again St. Peter's can only hold three hundred+ people provided everyone packs in tight. Maybe we could do rent-a-tent and invite the whole town.
But for now: here it is, the Turtle Creek Chorale doing Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, with nuns.
Outstanding! Laughed out loud! Christos anesti, y'all!

Thanks, Mark. Just what I needed to wind up my Easter day. How fun!
ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFor ever and ever. . .
Easter dinner for 11, a new apartment with half my china still in boxes, a 9 x 13 baking dish that decided to attempt suicide on my kitchen floor full of honey and butter sauce, I was tired last night. But for some reason I pulled up your site, folowed the link and laughed myself to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThanks it is a perfectly funny Easter gift.

i laughed. i cried. i fell in love.
ReplyDeletenow my easter is complete.
This performance makes me wonder how anyone, church or state, could want to get rid of Gay men. We're worth our weight in gold just for the laughter we cause - not to mention the art.

LOVE IT! Especially the shortie who had to jump...that would be me!
ReplyDeleteIs that Turtle Creek in Dallas???
ReplyDeleteI was going to say 'on a more serious note', but that would not have been correct. On a less joyous note, the presentment charges against Fr. Don Armstrong have been published over the weekend, and can be found at the following link.

Hope you all have had a happy Easter.

Frank, with all due respect, could you perhaps have posted this in another thread, or emailed it directly to Mark? it's important info, but it's also Easter - I'd hoped we could take a break from the lobbing of hand grenades. in any case, perhaps Mark will post the link in a new post, and give us his incisive comments.
ReplyDeleteDear Mark,
ReplyDeleteI made the mistake of watching this at work, and my colleagues have never seen me laugh so hard that I cried before! Just the antidote to the Sunday NYT article on this piece. You rock.
