What the Anglican Communion is good for...

Announcement has come that Bishop Azad Marshall was installed as sixth Bishop at St Pauls Church Tehran on Sunday August 5. At least the following bishops and representatives of bishops from elsewhere in the communion were present for the service: Bishop Michael Nazir Ali of Rochester, representing the Archbishop of Canterbury , Archbishop John Chew (South East Asia), Bishop Suheil Dawani, Bishop of Jerusalem, Bishop Paul Butler of Southampton, Bishop Riah, former Bishop of Jerusalem, and a representative of the Bishop of Oxford.

This small struggling church is attempting a recovery after years of difficulty. Bishop Marshall needs all the sensitive support possible in this period, and the presence of members of the Anglican Communion fellowship at this installation is a signal that he does not stand alone in his work.

Very often we forget that one of the great values of the Communion is that of Christian solidarity.

Pray for Bishop Marshall and his new work, and for his family, and for work of the Anglican Episcopal Church in Iran.

OK... Comments, gripes, etc welcomed, but with some cautions and one rule:
Cautions: Calling people fools, idiots, etc, will be reason to bounce your comment. Keeping in mind that in the struggles it is difficult enough to try to respect opponents, we should at least try.

Rule: PLEASE DO NOT SIGN OFF AS ANONYMOUS: BEGIN OR END THE MESSAGE WITH A NAME - ANY NAME. ANONYMOUS commentary will be cut.
