Wrapping dead fish in the Harare Herald: Ok, Homosexuality did not break up the Province of Centeral Africa.

In previous postings I have referred to the suspect coverage provided by the Harare Herald. In two recent articles, one on September 10th, titled "Homosexuality breaks up Anglican Province" and one on September 15th, titled "Homosexuality is an Abomination." The first has been subject to correction from several sources, the latest being reported on epiScope, a correction provided by Rev Fr Eston Dickson Pembamoyo, Provincial Secretary for Central Africa.

That "correction" essentially states that everything in the article "Homosexuality breaks up Anglican Province" is false or incorrect. The Secretary does not address the telephone interview by David Virtue with the Archbishop, and in particular the Archbishop's disappointment with Bishop Mwamba and Bishop Mwamba's exit as Dean of the Province, nor does he address the Harare Herald interview with the Bishop of Harare in which the Bishop is quotes as saying, "Homosexuality is an Abomination."

I am glad for the corrections provided by the Provincial Secretary. Perhaps he would be willing to comment on the David Virtue interview or the Harare Herald interview with the bishop of Harare.

  1. May I make a recommendation for amusement? Go to StandFirm and read the comments on any thread- pick a thread- they are all being translated into Pirate-speak to commemorate Talk Like A Pirate day. Never in the history of the Episcopal church have the phrases "avast," "scurvey-dog," and "ornery cuss" appeared as they do there at the moment.

You won't agree with the viewpoints, of course, but as one commenter noted- "who says the orthodox aren't open to innovations?"
