The Half Million Mile Marker

It's 7 AM here in Quito, where I am attending Executive Council. As some readers will know, this blog gets a bit thin when I'm at Council, in part because it is a very busy time and in part because I have pledged to myself that I would not try to be a reporter as well as a member. My hope is to write some reflections on our meeting later this week. Right now I am getting ready to go off for a visit to a local clinic here in the Diocese and later in the day hope to visit with some of the parishioners of the parish that supports that work.

Today PRELUDIUM passed the half-million visitor marker. The 500,000th visitor was from Newark, Delaware, where we lived for many years. With all the visitors from all over the world it is somehow fitting that the half million visit was from around the corner.

I'm amazed and delighted. PRELUDIUM has an odd place in the Anglican blogsphere. The readership is from all over the world and seems to cover the ecclesiastical spectrum. They mostly treat each other and me well. I was delighted to learn that one of the bishops I admire the most around these parts says he reads my blog almost every day. I have found new friends by way of this effort and have discovered a wide range of gifted writers out there with whom there is connection no matter how the tides are going.

I'm not as popular as Fr. Jake (than again he's a looker) , not as smooth in the use of the language as BabyBlue, and not as long on the net as Louie Crew, but I enjoy doing this very much.

Thanks to you all for reading the postings. Thanks for correcting my spelling and grammar. Thanks for caring about the Episcopal Church, the Anglican Communion and for that matter for caring about this effort.

  5. Wow... the last 3 days at clumber's kennel have been a true testimonial to the power of Preludium... but half a million - I'm in awe... even if I am about half of those!
