William White, The Episcopal Church and Lambeth.

Timothy Stafford, Rector of Christ Church, Philadelphia, writes about his predecessor and the grandaddy of all Episcopalians. In an article titled, "Bishops! Remember William White while at Lambeth," he writes about the "centuries-old debate between a monarchial administration of apostolic authority versus a democratic sharing of that authority." It is a fine read and I recommend it. The whole text is HERE where it is one of Episcopal Life Online's feature essays.
