Some days ago I posted an entry titled "Charting the Anglican Elliptic" I thought it had something to say about how we understand the Anglican Communion.
Pluralist Speaks has done an amazing and much better job of looking at all sorts of issues in the Communion in his posting, "Anglican Collider."
I am not going to say more except to say it makes my head spin! GO READ IT!
You're very kind. The genesis of this entry is as follows. In the morning the priest at his eucharist sermon that he was honoured to be the person to preside at the last eucharist at St Mary's before the Hadron Collider was switched on at the French Swiss border, and if it did generate a black hole then the only compensation was that France would be sucked in first. This sermon (that was then developed in the more usual manner) followed a reading were Paul was worried about virgins and marriage in the face of the last days - causing the reader to start laughing, which was fair enough as it was one of those terrible readings.
ReplyDeleteSo my head had something in it and later one thought that flashed was a "Fulcrum particle" (as I have withdrawn from commenting there). Then there was some innocent email chat when the further thought formed of Anglican collisions and I then just bashed it out. thinking of images I realised that the Lambeth 2008 logo could be a collider.
Without a hook or anchor I can't write anything.
