These are poems written over the course of ten years in response to the continuing dictatorships in Haiti. I have had a long time conviction that the only way out of the dismal state of affairs in Haiti is to bury the dictatorship known in the Duvaliers, father and son. In a sense it is their unholy ghost that continues to haunt the country. The poems were meant to parallel the elements of a requiem mass.
