Where is the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans?

In an article on the Anglican Covenant by George Conger, he writes,

"Both Dr. Thompson and Prof Noll argued that the exclusion of theologians and leaders of the Gafcon movement weakened the credibility of the document. “If the Covenant Design Group truly wishes to be inclusive, it needs to sit down with the leadership of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans and seek to incorporate the principles of the Jerusalem Declaration into the Covenant,” Prof Noll said."

So where do things stand with the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans? The GAFCON web page is singularly unhelpful, having no posts following several that were directly the outcome of the GAFCON conference itself, save for one in support of deposed Bishop Duncan. Among the several posted immediately following GAFCON (in June) was this invitation:

"We invite individuals, churches, dioceses, provinces and parachurch organisations who assent to the Jerusalem Declaration to signify their desire to become members of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans."

After that nothing more has been heard.

When will GAFCON Primates, or the GAFCON Secretariat, be publishing the results of this invitation?

Now that's a telling comment. So what they want is a Covenant which is really not an agreement on how to co-exist, but which is in fact a Confessional document, which will of course colour everything the Anglican Communion believes and does from here on in. They want to set up their own Procrustean bed with which they can measure the rest of us, and perform whatever surgery they feel is necessary on the Body of Christ.

    Two questions:

    1) Is it not enough for them to have Drexel Gomez chairing the Covenant Design Group?

    2) Is every unofficial upstart pressure group that can set up a website going to get to demand that its own documents be included in the Covenant?

  2. Couple this with Andrew Goddard's latest output on Fulcrum, which I have done:
