Over on Santos Woodcarving Popsicles there is a YouTube video of Presiding Bishop Katharine answering the question, "Why should I be an Episcopalian." Thanks for the heads up SWP! It's a fine short inviting statement. In the days ahead we should remember it and what we offer as a church in the wider realm of Christian community.

OK... Comments, gripes, etc welcomed, but with some cautions and one rule:
Cautions: Calling people fools, idiots, etc, will be reason to bounce your comment. Keeping in mind that in the struggles it is difficult enough to try to respect opponents, we should at least try.

Fr. Mark, Late one night, after a lengthy school board meeting, I came to be in an argument with a board member. He was a strong supporter and a friend (much as school board members and superintendents can be friends) and so at the conclusion, I sort of apologized for holding a conflicting opinion. His comment I will never forget and I pass it on here as it seems appropriate for this particular video and in the wider context. He said to me, "You know, if you and I always thought alike one of us would not be necessary."
