The Menu has Changed: Simon Mein on "kainos" change.

Simon Mein, who writes only occasionally, thereby annoying the rest of us who blather on, writes well and cleverly about significant issues behind and beneath the news of the day in Anglican / Episcopal land. He as done so again.

PLEASE LISTEN CAREFULLY is a wonderful essay on just why it might be a matter of great value to think of the promise (mostly unfulfilled) behind the announcement, "Please listen carefully, the menu has changed." Suppose the menu really has changed, and the former concerns were now to be addressed not only in new ways, but within a new framework, so that the menu might not contain the same content, reshuffled, at all.

Read this enjoyable essay HERE. Then, think of three ways in which change in your life is not simply
Neos, a new configuration of the old but kainos, something entirely, dramatically new.
