Fr. Jake the worldstopper is back in town.

We knew it would happen. We hoped it would happen. Jake the Worldstopper left the feisty blogtown of Anglican land a little over eleven months ago for the lofty reaches of regular Episcopal Church center (ed) life. There he did marvelous work, but had to be lifted from the burdens of daily blogging. He was gainfully employed in Evangelism efforts where he worked with great creativity and joy. He was also a gift (as we might expect) to the lowly, downtrodden and bemused of the Church who always though it was about Evangelism anyway.

Now, the downsizing at the Church Center well underway, Jake has returned to his native land, where his community of half-starved followers await. You can visit him HERE. They are, as usual, the unruly gang of camp followers, creative thoughtful persons, cranks, joy makers, and malcontents that follow blogs in Anglican Land. Jake was always good at stopping Jake's world to let them off when they got too nasty.

We missed Jake. I missed Jake.

I hope he finds his voice again quickly (perhaps he never lost it). About the only thing that has happened in Anglican Blogland these months is that some stars have shown brighter in his absence, some have come forward with greater piss and vinegar to work at his work in his absence. So now that he is back, some of us, like John must decrease and he will increase. It is all very good.

Preludium has been blogging for a bit over three years (four come January 2010). I have been wondering since General Convention just what part I ought to play in the unfolding of Anglican blog land in the next years. Jake's coming back on the blog will help shape all our work.

So, beloved Jake. Welcome back. But we are not fooled. Jake, who stops the World, is actually Fr. Sarducci on the lamb. You can tell, because Fr. Sarducci says exactly what Fr. Jake says, "God is everywhere." "Why?" "Because he likes you."

  2. Fr. Mark,

I rejoice at the return of Fr. Jake, but please don't be to quick to pull back.

You too, are a valuable voice.

  3. So now I wonder which ones are which! IT

Oh, heck IT, use the ol´ denial mechanism when in doubt...it´s so handy, so multi-purpose, so easily accessible.

For me, I´m ignoring the whole business.

THANKS FATHER HARRIS AND FATHER JAKE (you make up a great deal of my spiritual focus and processing plant).

    WELCOME HOME JAKE!

  5. Mark, work out your role in Anglican Blogland, but please don't stop blogging. We need your viewpoint.

As one of the "creative thoughtful persons" AND one of the "joy makers" at Jake's place, I look around at the "unruly gang of camp followers, cranks, and malcontents", and think who ARE these people? ;o)

  6. Good to read that Jake is back. Before you 'cast off from anglican land', you got to tell us about the boat, other than the fact that it has a 'canon'. While aboard, will it still be Fr. Harris, or Popeye Harris? Ha ha. Enjoy the boat and smooth sailing..

  7. Heh heh. Thanks Mark.

God is everwhere...and he does like you! So do we. So don't even think of going anywhere!
