So, remember to breathe...

Well the Virginia supremes rule Thursday Morning on the property disputes in Virginia. Which ever way it goes, it goes. Impermanence is a permanent condition. We all stand in the shadow of the cross, and BTW, we will all learn to render to Caesar and to God. Hat tip to Mad Priest, who is having a most excellent day.

From FALLS CHURCH NEWS:

The Virginia Supreme Court is due to issue its ruling on the property dispute between the Episcopal Church and breakaway congregations at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, the News-Press has learned. The ruling will establish, among other things, whether the breakaway Anglicans who defected from the Episcopal Church in 2006 will retain the right to occupy the property of the historic Falls Church in downtown City of Falls Church, or whether they must vacate the premises and give them over to the congregation of "continuing Episcopalians," composed of members of The Falls Church who did not agree to defect, that have been meeting in the fellowship hall of the nearby Falls Church Presbyterian Church.

  1. I have been wondering about this very decision for the last two days. I was thinking that it was about time to hear the VA Supremes ruling. I believe that they will trike down this US Civil War Era law and rule in the favor of TEC.

If they fail to do that, then I hope TEC and Dio VA do not let this stand and go on to the US Supremes.

  2. One would hope that the VA supremes will recognise the hierarchical nature of TEC and inform the schismatics to vacate, post haste. However, one must remember we are dealing with Virginia ...

  4. I had a feeling that even were the VA Supremes to rule in favor of Dio VA & TEC, that they would find a way to side step the constitutional issue!
