Why I think poets trump theologians, and artists priests.

I think this because even as a student of students in both art and poetry, this is closer to what I think Advent is about, moral grounding is about, and even poetry and art is about. The words are from Wendell Berry's "Manifesto: The Mad farmer Liberation Front", in his collection, The Country of Marriage.  The linocut is my own, and even with its failings it evokes for me what I hoped it would.  Poets trump theologians and artists priests. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 

Of course I will keep plugging along here at Preludium as a priest with some theological mutterings to make now and then, but back in the back of my head there is the whisper, "you might have been better off farming for visions."
