Keeping on keeping on..patching a broken world

The Problem, said the White Rabbit, is that the World, Our good ol' Anglican World, is broken. There is no use crying over it as if it were spilt milk. It is broken. The House of Bishops knew something was wrong. That was a big help. The Anglican Communion is not in good shape. The question is does it have to stay that way?

Here it is, The Broken Anglican World.

Building bridges is such a patch job, but there it is, it has to be done and we all have to do our part. The future of the Anglican Communion will be as messy as its past. We should not be surprised. After all, tidy is not the Anglican Communion's middle name.

The Bishops at their meeting also helped point a way to keep on keeping on, as they say, doing the Lord's work. Here is a bit of what that keeping on might look like. (Apologies to Dave Walker, of cartoon church, who can actually draw and is clever and did a better globe than this. Still, this one is in color!)

  1. Bravo!

We should all draw our own broken globes, messy or not, and get to work on it for Christ.

I think you're giving Dave Walker a run for his money. :)

  2. An excellent idea. And toward that end:

  3. And surely the brokenness is also in our denomination, too. Right?

  4. I too love the color globe, but you guys need to get some sleep! I LOL at the Ebay pic of Rowan (not the tree), and see that so far, the bid's up to $16.95usd, which aat the current exchange rate, is about 8.5 pounds sterling. Hope he's a good swimmer (they say it's good for your heart).

Shame about that ABC, he had such potential, and seems to have let himself be subsumed by his role, like a bureaucrat acting out of liberal guilt.

  5. It's now up to $66+. That may pay for part of the tray of the table.

  6. I just posted an idea over at MadPriests and am soliciting thoughts for the idea.

I think it is time that we had a chance to build working relationships face to face among the progressive Episcopalians who are active on the blogs.

    any thoughts?

  7. Could one of the bridges be a common faith and commitment to counciliar actions rather than acting independently?
