Signs of Frustration? Bah, Humbug. Early flights.

Jonathan Petre, in an article today (Friday) in The Telegraph, wrote this:

"In a sign of their growing frustration, a handful of the most conservative bishops walked out of the House of Bishops' meeting, saying they could contribute nothing more to it."

Well, they may have acted frustrated, but they left because they had already days or even weeks ago decided to do so. There was never any intention on the part of some bishops in the Network to stay beyond the end of the Archbishop's time with the bishops.

They were leaving because on Tuesday they meet in Pittsburgh to work at usurping the place of the Episcopal Church in the Anglican world, and if possible in the Anglican Communion.

Frustrated? Well perhaps. But that was long ago and far away. In the place they now inhabit they are headed for the runway as planned.

  1. Does anyone know which Network bishops skipped out and which stayed?

  2. Pretty certain that Iker and Duncan skipped. I think it was probably the first HOB meeting that Iker attended in many years. He usually has mome other, more pressing business on his calendar when the HOB meets.Don't know about the others, but can guess that Ackerman and Schofield were among the departing group as well.

  3. I wonder if any of the dissidents stayed to get his hands dirty helping others. Or if all just left to attend to the dirty business of schism.

  4. Do you know whether either the archbishop of Nigeria or of Uganda, both of whom, I believe, have been in the US this past week, is expected at the Pittsburgh meeting?
