LGBT and moving beyond on / off switches.

Desert's Child, Katie Sherrod, begins her most recent blog, The "T" in LGBT . with this: "The "T" in LGBT stands for Transgender -- and it's a group that even the L, G and B [Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual] segments of that acronym often are uncomfortable with." She later in the essay references a video posted over on The Friends of Jake by Ann with the title, " The stones cry out ....." which linked to an astonishing video from Argentina. Here it is:

I don't have much more to say than to invite you to read Katie's essay and watch the video several times over.

Who we are and how we understand ourselves is both a product a lifetime of discovery and an immediate reality: From the standpoint of time, we are always emerging. From the standpoint of God's moment, also known sometimes as eternity or the eternal now, we are known and loved. The hard work is seeing God's beloved in the emerging - both in others and in ourselves.

Louie Crew is always saying, "God loves absolutely everybody." And he is right. I sense, however, that God may have a place close to the heart for those who have not been loved by others in their emergent now.

There is no substitute for loving kindness. None. It is of God.
