Brian Prior, VP House of Deputies, elected bishop of Minnesota

The Rev. Brian Prior, VP of the House of Deputies and Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Spokane, Washington, has been elected bishop of Minnesota. The report on that election can be found HERE.

Congratulations to Brian, a fine priest and gentle person.

His election leaves vacant the position of VP of the House of Deputies. That position is not filled between General Conventions.

  1. BRAVO!

¨If not at the table, why not?¨ Bishop-elect Prior

Perhaps some of the ¨invitations¨ were smudged.

  2. Brian is a great guy. He'll make a terrific bishop - a great addition to the HOB. I'm really delighted he was elected. And, I would be less than honest if I didn't admit to my disappointment that a woman - albeit it highly qualified lesbian woman - was not elected.

My prejudice. My problem. My honesty (okay, orthodox believers, have at it). The diocese of MN's discernment process was absolutely brim full with integrity and prayer. I applaud them and keep them and their new bishop in my sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.
