Hegel, I think, said, "The Owl of Minerva flies only at dusk." Well, perhaps it is the dusk before the dawn, and two good friends have written on this business of being Anglican, Episcopalian, etc, and the mix of evangelical and catholic sensibilities that inform us all. Dan Martins has written "Why I am an Anglican." Dylan Bruer has written "The Church's wholeness."
Both are fine essays by people who keep working away at naming the joy in being Anglican and the need to keep awake to God's gifts to us all in this wonderful and sometimes cranky community of churches that make up the Anglican Communion.
Read both these essays. They are grist for the mill. Or perhaps pre dawn cries of the owl.
I am on more or less retreat for the next two days. More later.

OK... Comments, gripes, etc welcomed, but with some cautions and one rule:
Cautions: Calling people fools, idiots, etc, will be reason to bounce your comment. Keeping in mind that in the struggles it is difficult enough to try to respect opponents, we should at least try.
