Chopra does not join the McCain Campaign. Stand Firm spits in the soup

Deepak Chopra joins the McCain-Palin Campaign.. that's what a post by Matt Kennedy over at Stand Firm says. Of course it is a joke. Right? Stand Firm gets near the top of the search engine charts a lot of the time. Lots of people read SF. So now googleing Deepak Chopra will get you this bit of humorous sabotage.

If you read what Chopra says and go to the link provided by SF you get to the article which is in fact speaking out for Obama and against McCain, sort of. But at any event, what happens on the search engine is that Chopra's name comes up with the opposite, or at least skewed, headline.

Chopra does not join the McCain Campaign. So I laugh with Stand Firm for making a good joke, but as they spit in the soup they might ask themselves if they want always to be known as people who get the headlines, make it to the top of the search engine charts and are with guile working the charts with misleading information?

I scan Stand Firm almost every day because they often are first to get important Anglican Communion information. I even like some of their humor. But this is spiting in the soup.

  1. Excuse me if I'm being pedantic, Mark, but allow me to explain the joke. SF is saying that many of these attacks on Palin have only served to shift support to McCain. The act of sabotage is not the creation of confusion about who Chopra supports, but to bring what he says to the attention of those who might be motivated to vote for McCain after reading it. They did the same with this story,

and this one is along the same lines,

Those who are fervent Obama supporters continue to debate amongst themselves whether it is better to go on the attack or to ignore the Palin phenomenon. Thus far, it strikes me that the attack strategy has made her into something bigger than should otherwise would have been.

  2. This could be just what Obama needs-a New Age guru! Add his ramblings to those of 'Rev.' Wright and you've got a winning pastoral team.

  3. Yeah, John's got it right. Chopra's comments, like the comments our of Obama supporters in South Carolina yesterday, only serve to boost McCain/Palin.

  4. Interesting and not surprising...

I seem to be barred from SF and T19 -- when I signed in a few weeks ago all of a sudden I couldn't even read the sites. Not to worry one's little head...I find my blood pressure down, my irritability lessened, my faith in The Episcopal Church heightened.

But if it weren't for you, Mark, I'd be totally in the dark! So keep up the good ministry you offer us all.

    Blessings!
