The first woman Anglican Bishop in Latin America had died. According to a posting on Facebook two hours ago the funeral will be tomorrow, Sunday, the 11th of July. Bishop Nerva Cot Aguilera was 71. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
OK... Comments, gripes, etc welcomed, but with some cautions and one rule:
Cautions: Calling people fools, idiots, etc, will be reason to bounce your comment. Keeping in mind that in the struggles it is difficult enough to try to respect opponents, we should at least try.
Rule: PLEASE DO NOT SIGN OFF AS ANONYMOUS: BEGIN OR END THE MESSAGE WITH A NAME - ANY NAME. ANONYMOUS commentary will be cut.
This is really a blow for our brothers and sisters in Cuba. The Metropolitan Council choosing another woman for the position would be questioned, but choosing a man could be viewed as "business as usual."
ReplyDeleteMay God comfort the church in Cuba for this loss, as well as her family and close friends.
I pray for the repose of +Nerva's soul.
Rest in peace your Excellency..
It is with sadness that I learn of the passing of Bishop Nerva. May the Lord bless the Church as it continues to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
